NRIC is exploring the high desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. There is more to Sin City than gambling, lights and mega-shows. Learn about the precious and fragile natural resources and ecosystems of the desert surrounding the Strip.

The Imperial Palace is a smaller hotel nestled among the jewels of the Strip. The Flamingo and Harrah’s on either side, with the Mirage and Caesar’s Palace across the road.

Sessions will include presentations on services to and resources for

our patrons, current issues in libraries, and enhancing our work lives. Resources and services sessions will focus on the needs of librarians and library staff working with natural resources information.

Registration will open on February 1st. Hotel rooms will be available for booking February 15th. Please call the hotel directly at 800-800-2981 and mention that you are attending NRIC 2006.

More information on the hotel can be found at http://www.imperialpalace.com/

The Las Vegas tourism site provides a wonderful amount of things to see and do while in Vegas: http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/index.jsp
